Synthetic Pitch from Solvent Extraction of Coal as a Source for High-Quality Graphite

نویسندگان

چکیده

This work evaluates the potential for obtaining graphitizable precursors from domestically available coal as a possible solution to declining availability of high-quality and projected rapid growth driven by demand synthetic graphite in US. The graphitizability coal-derived pitch (Synpitch) obtained novel solvent extraction process is compared with commercially petroleum pitch. outlined this paper offers advantages lower temperature, pressure, hydrogen addition requirement. An upgraded (higher H/C) aromatic low quinoline insoluble (QI) ash content obtained. distinctions between pitches have been characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, thermogravimetric analysis/differential scanning calorimetry. graphitized at 2500 °C X-ray diffraction transmission electron microscopy graphitic quality assessment. Synpitch showed larger crystallites (by over 50%) markedly better nanostructure commercial used study. structural differences are highlighted here explain significantly Synpitch.

Solvent extraction and stripping of zinc from synthetic chloride solution in presence of manganese and cadmium as impurities

In this research work, solvent extraction and stripping of zinc ions from a Zn-Mn-Cd-bearing solution was investigated using D2EHPA as the extractant in a chloride medium. The efficiency of the extraction and stripping stages was evaluated separately, and different parameters such as the pH, extractant concentration, reaction temperature, and contact time were studied. Based on the results obta...

Nano TiO2@KSF as a high-efficient catalyst for solvent-free synthesis of Biscoumarin derivatives

An efficient, simple and convenient route is described for the synthesis of biscoumarin (3,3'-(arylmethylene) bis (4-hydroxy-2H-chromen-2-one)) by using of recyclable catalyst TiO2@KSF. In this Method, we synthesis biscoumarin derivatives via 3multi-component reactions (3MCRs) of two equivalent 4-hydroxycoumarin with one equivalent of aromatic aldehydes using 20 mg nano TiO2@KSF as homogeneous ...

Prospective-triggered high-pitch spiral versus sequential dual-source CT coronary angiography: comparison of image quality and radiation dose

Background: Prospectively electrocardiography (ECG)-triggered high-pitch spiral coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) is a unique scan mode for dual-source CT (DSCT). Our reports aim to compare image quality and radiation dose of CCTA using high-pitch spiral or sequential acquisition mode in patients with low and stable heart rates. Materials and Methods: Patients with low and stable ...

Coal Ash as a Low Cost Adsorbent for the Removal of Xylenol Orange from Aqueous Solution

The removal ofxylenol orange from aqueous solution onto the coal ash was investigated at room temperature. The results show that the adsorption capacity of xylenol orange increased as the adsorption time increased and then equilibrium established after 30 min adsorption time. The results obtained revealed that the coal ash removed about 80 % of xylenol orange from the aqueous solution withi...
